A destination-by-destination booking calendar — how far ahead luxury hotels actually need to be held, by season and by property type. Lead times below are reviewed against visible inventory and change when a market tightens or loosens.

Lead times shift with visible inventory, new-opening pressure, and demand events (World Cup, cherry-blossom season, monsoon-adjacent dry seasons). Treat the windows below as a starting read, not a guarantee — VIAIVE re-checks them against live availability before a hold is placed.

Japan cherry blossom

9+ months lead time. Peak bloom weeks in Tokyo and Kyoto sell out flagship-category rooms well over a year out in some cases; 9 months is the realistic floor for a named category, not just any room.

Bangkok peak river hotels

3–6 months lead time. The river-facing category at flagship Chao Phraya properties tightens well before the base rooms do — the view category is the actual scarcity, not the hotel itself.

Bali August villas

6 months lead time. Dry-season villa demand concentrates in July–August; the off-market staffed-estate layer books out earlier than the publicly listed resort villas.

Bhutan lodges

Route-dependent. Lodge availability follows the permitted-route calendar rather than a fixed season, so lead time is set by itinerary design, not a single booking window.
